Stop At: Porta Messina, Corso Umberto 1, 98039, Taormina, Sicily Italy

During "The Godfather" tour, you will walk along the authentic picturesque streets of Savoca and Forza d'Agro remained unchanged since the movie was made, visit ancient churches, famous Bar Vitelli where Michael Corleone asked Apollonia's father her hand in marriage, church where they married, and other movie locations.

Optionally, you may taste perfect Sicilian wines and locally produced food sitting on a terrace with a panoramic view of the Ionian coast and surrounding countryside at one of the best wine bars in Savoca, and have traditional fish dinner at a fine fish restaurant in Forza d'Agro.

First stop is Savoca, an unspoilt medieval town that near Taormina that acted as stand-in for Corleone where Michael was hiding out during the "going to the mattresses" time. Here you will visit Bar Vitelli that looks exactly the way it did in the movie, and see the exact spot where Al Pacino informed Apollonia's father that his name was Michael Corleone, and that "there are people who'd pay a lot of money for that information, but then your daughter would lose a father instead of gaining a husband". Here you can take pictures with an authentic Sicilian shotgun "Lupara", see pictures from the movie and a mirror monument for Coppola, enjoy panoramic view of the Mediterranean opening from the square where the wedding ceremony scene was shot, purchase The Godfather souvenirs, and - "leave the gun, take the cannoli" - taste original Sicilian cannoli and lemon granita at Bar Vitelli.

Then you will walk to an ancient church of Santa Lucia, where Michael and Apollonia were married kneeling in the doorway. Then follow the same path down the hill that the newlyweds did, and visit another old church dating back to the 13th century. Walking along the fabulous streets of Savoca, on a good day you can also meet some actors - for example a lady who played Apollonia's mother and who still lives in Savoca.

Later, optionally you can visit Enoteca near Santa Lucia church, and on a terrace with romantic sea view taste Sicilian red and white wines paired with traditional food (locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, caponata, home-made jelly, olives, extra virgin olive oil and fresh home-made bread).

The tour will continue in Forza d'Agro, another stunning hilltop town with a "Godfather" connection. You will walk the abandoned streets ("Where have all men gone?" - "They're dead from vendettas"), explore the historic square and see the pictures from the movie, visit ancient churches, see the piazza where young Vito Andolini (later Vito Corleone) escaped Don Ciccio's men by hiding in a basket on a donkey's back, walk up to see the remains of a 12th century Norman castle, admire delightful panoramic view of the Ionian coastline, and get a flavor of the Sicilian pastoral lifestyle remained unchanged since ancient times.

Then, you can optionally have lunch or dinner at one of the best fish restaurants in Sicily and taste many kinds of traditional fish dishes with Sicilian red and white wines.

This tour made our day in Sicily! Our guide Marco was fabulous! Cannot say enough good things about him. He truly made the day. He knew the area, picked out the best restaurant with wonderful food in the perfect location! We did a cruise and he was right there waiting for us with a sign when we got off the ship! The beautiful countryside, the sites Marco took us to, was truly a dream! Thank you Viator and Marco for the awesome day we will never forget!

My husband and I completed a tour with Marco last week and it did not disappoint! Our guide was Marco whom was so kind and extremely informative throughout the entire tour. We visited 2 cities and he took tons of photos for us! We had the best time and also loved our wine and food tasting that was also exceptional! This experience made our trip to Sicily no doubt!

Whether you are a Godfather enthusiast, casual fan, or haven't seen the movie at all, an afternoon with Marco will open your eyes to the endless vistas, and charm of small Sicilian towns that may otherwise go unexplored by the casual tourist. Greeted at our hotel with mouth-watering oranges from his home, Marco was delightful in sharing his knowledge and love, not only for the movie, but for his native Sicily imparting both fun and historic facts throughout our tour. Marco is well connected and gained access to places and people, including Appolonia's mother from the movie, that were truly fascinating. With seemingly endless photo opportunities, he was always patient in making sure we had the perfect picture to add to our Sicilian memories. Did I mention local cheeses and wine? Yes, we had that too and with a stunning view, of course! At the end of the day, my wife and I truly felt as though we made a friend while gaining a wealth of knowledge in reliving the Godfather movie and touring the dramatic Sicilian countryside. This tour will alleviate your stress and culminate in a renewed appreciation for the world we all share and the beauty that is La Sicilia. Cheers and Grazie to Marco!

My husband and I are both very avid and detailed superfans of the movies. This tour is essentially why we spent 10 days in Sicily. Marco was our guide for both this tour as well as the private Etna Winery tour. He was fabulous!!! There isn't one small detail that Marco does not know about the movies. In addition, you will learn A LOT about Sicilian culture, both historical and modern day. It is rare to meet someone with such a passion for their country. I highly suggest including the lunch/wine tasting at Dionysus owned with love by a former biologist in Savoca with a beautiful patio, beautiful view, great food and wine. It is well worth the money. Request Marco. He is superb.

Tour of a lifetime. Our fantastic tour guide Bruno brought us to the most scenic and beautiful parts of Savoca. For Godfather fans is a must. We met lovely people along the way and the best cheese and wine definitely come from Sicily. I would strongly recommend to book a tour with Bruno.

The Godfather tour was amazing. The towns and the sites the movie was filmed have not change much. But most importantly our tour guide Marcos was fabulous. We were served wine, cheese, etc just down from the church where Michael C Al Pacino was married. We also got to speak to the woman who played Michael C's mother-in-law in the movie as she lives down from the church. It was a a perfect day. On a separate tour the Food, Wine Tasting and Dinner we also had Marco as our guide. The chef at the restaurant was wonderful in assuring we all had tasks we enjoyed and worked together to prepare. There was plenty of wine to go around during the cooking as well! The final meal was amazing. We had so much fun. When we come back to Italy, we will do these two tours again and request Marcos!

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. Marco was our guide and he picked us up at our hotel with a bag of plums from his garden. This gesture was an indicator of how warm and generous he would be throughout the day. By the end of the day, you will feel like you just spent the day walking around Sicily with a friend and not a guide. In addition to his generosity and kind mentality, Marco's knowledge of the region really added an interesting perspective. He knows the who, what, where, why, and how for every detail of the tour and it's respective cities. The stop at Dioniso Vini for lunch was stellar as well. Andrea, the owner, made sure that we had plenty of great wine and food while also showing us handmade wine bottle openers and corks, of which we purchased 1 of each! All in all, if you are looking for a a great local experience in Sicily, this is a great option!
