In the morning, we will visit Rabati Castle. The old stone Rabati fortress, the main sight of the Akhaltsikhe town, is standing on the small hill on the very shores of the Potskhovi river. Its name comes from Arabic meaning “fortified place”.

Stop At: Khertvisi Fortress, Vil. Khertvisi, Aspindza 0500 Georgia
Khertvisi Fortress is one of the oldest fortresses in Georgia and was functional throughout the Georgian feudal period. The fortress was first built in the 2nd century BC. As the legend says, Khertvisi was destroyed by Alexander the Great.

Vardzia was erected in the 12-13 centuries during the rule of George III and his daughter of Tamara for the purpose of the southern boundaries of Georgia protection. Vardzia is not just a set of random rooms cut in rocks, it is a multi-storied complex with streets, tunnels and stairs leading to monasteries, temples, fortresses, baths, libraries dwelling houses and so forth
