Stop At: David Gareja Monastery, Mount Gareja, Udabno Georgia
At around 0900 am, our professional driver guide shall meet you at your hotel & escort you to your vehicle. The tour will drive through scenic road along the way to David-Gareja, a rock-hewn 6th Century Orthodox monastery located on the half-desert slopes of Mount Gareja, You will be able to make a few stops for photo-taking.
The tour begins with visiting monastery complex and introduction to its history. We will continue with a short and steep climb along the cliff for about an hour. Explore some of the cave monasteries decorated with unique frescoes dated from 10th to 13th centuries and enjoy the mind-blowing farm fields of Azerbaijan from the top. Descending from the top will take about an hour. In this tour, you have the options to have a lunch break at nearby restaurant or picnic.
