About this activity
Itinerary
I am going to make a presentation of all the types of ancient Greek lyres (the lyre of Sappho, the lyre of Hermes, the Cithara of the Golden Age, the Phorminx of the time of Ulises and more) but, mostly, I am going to play and listen in real time the differences and the beauty of sound of all these ancient music instruments. I am going to talk about Hermes and Apollo, the Ancient Greek music system and the oldest surviving melody, the Epitaph of Seikilo. Whats more, I am going to play ancient Greek board games but also listen to the famous (contemporary) Greek bouzouki and a bendir (one of the oldest type of percussions). I am going to combine academic research and study with Mythology using the universal language of Music.
