About this activity
Small, private non-profit natural reserve dedicated to the preservation of Costa Rican biodiversity and forest regeneration that is open for tours. Around the facility, you will find sloths (both two and three-toed), a diverse bird population (approx. 220 species), and a butterfly garden. While you can find many different kinds of frogs, most come out at after sunset and can be seen during our night tours. Other wildlife tends to be most active around 8am-11am so book your tour during that time of day to have a higher chance of seeing a wider range of animal species. The reserve also has a natural lake inhabited by iguanas, boat-billed herons, and caimans. As well as preserving and protecting wildlife, Ecocentro Danaus supports the Maleku tribe by providing facility where they can share their culture and display their art to visitors. Please book in advance for guaranteed access to tour guides.
