We provide a very exclusive experience fishing while visiting the La Fortuna area near the Arenal Volcano. This fishing expedition on Lake Arenal is done in one of our specialized fishing kayaks -- you'll paddle along the peaceful and picturesque bays of Lake Arenal early in the morning. Follow along the shallower parts of the shoreline, islands and inlets for better fish-catching possibilities. Cast your line along the quiet waves and tall reeds as you marvel at the majestic Arenal Volcano off in the distance.

Hardcore fishing enthusiasts love this unique fishing experience and it's also great for couples, families because you can travel in a motorized boat as a back up. Other members of the party can hang out on the boat and enjoy the ride while you explore Lake Arenal together.

You'll be fishing for three popular Costa Rica fish: 1) the frisky Machaca fish (scientific name: Brycon behreaeon). A fly casting from your kayak or the shore works well with this fun game fish. 2) The prized Rainbow Bass (scientific name: Parachromis dovii) can be found in the reed areas of the lake have a strong fight much like the Largemouth Bass. 3) And the most evasive is the Bobo (scientific name: Joturus Pichardi) and seem to like lures with a good drag -- but not an easy catch!
