Get ready for an amazing day, Adventure Enthusiasts, because this challenging mountain-bike ride is tailor-made for you. After hotel pickup in La Fortuna, travel west of the town with your expert guide into Arenal Volcano National Forest. During the drive, learn about 7,000-year-old Arenal Volcano that has been sleeping since its last smoldering activity in 2010. Disembark at a location surrounded by verdant hillsides surrounding the base of the 5,479-foot-tall (1,670 meters) volcano.
Slip on a helmet, receive a safety orientation on using your top-of-the-line suspension mountain bike, and definitely pay attention to the tips on riding in a group along a narrow single-track trail. When you’re ready, pedal off and follow your guide into the lush forest on a route largely undiscovered by tourists.
During the 12-mile (19-km) ride, glide along smooth terrain, judder over tree roots, and splash across rivers and mud puddles. Travel through changing landscapes of rainforest and rich green farmlands, waving to locals along the way.
Pass through diverse plant life communities, including the resplendent red and green plumes of the quetzal, and keep your eyes open for moose, white-faced monkeys, deer, coati and toucans.
About two hours in, your guide stops you at a picturesque open expanse for a break. Re-energize with the cool beverages and fresh tropical fruit snacks provided, snap pics to commemorate your journey and then get back in the saddle to complete your ride. Sweaty and proud, return your gear and climb aboard a van that transports you back to your hotel, or a stop at the Hunters and Gatherers riverside restaurant should you like to order lunch at an additional cost.

One of the best tours we had, The guides were excellent and provided information on the ride and the location. Very accommodating after i fell a few times. They took us to an alternate location where we were able to enjoy the biking and lunch.
