Stop At: BunkArt 1, Rruga Fadil Deliu, Tirana 1001 Albania

We start our journey of the past at the Bunk’ Art Museum with a full – immersion of the Albanian history of the last 100 years. The ex – nuclear bunker, build to accommodate Communist Dictator Hoxha in the event of attack, tells us the story of the dictator’s time and the past two World Wars through photographs, items and documents.

Stop At: Pazari i Ri, Shenasi Dishnica, Tirana 1001 Albania

After we step out of Bunk’ Art, we head at the New Bazaar for “qofte” ( meat balls), yogurt sauce, patato chips and local beer, Tirana's typical street food!

Pass By: Skanderbeg Square, At the center of Tirana, Tirana Albania

Walk towards Skanderbeg Square and learn about the historical building such as Et'hem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower, that surround the main square of Tirana. 

Stop At: National Gallery of Art, Bulevardi Deshmoret e Kombit, Tirana Albania

Enter in the National Gallery of Arts for many socialist realist art. Powerful images give a sense of how “realistic” art was used to create propaganda.

Pass By: Enver Hoxha Pyramid, Boulevard Deshmoret e Kombit, Tirana Albania

Behold the pyramid, the former “Enver Hoxha Museum”. Its once - white marble walls are now crumbling and full of graffiti. Discover its history from our local Tour Director.

Stop At: Komiteti - Kafe Muzeum, Rruga Fatmir Haxhiu, Tiranë, Albania

Coffee break at Komiteti – Kafe Museum for some raki, communist candy and maybe some coffee also.

Pass By: Mother Teresa Square, Bulevardi Dëshmorët e Kombit, Tiranë, Albania

Walk in the main boulevard of Tirana, towards Mother Teresa Square

Pass By: Blloku, Tirana Albania

We will walk through the Blloku area, where we discover the home of Enver Hoxha and other senior members of his regime. We will stop at the Post Blloku memorial, which honors former political prisoners, in an area once forbidden to enter.

Stop At: BunkArt 2, Rruga Abdi Toptani, Tirana Albania

BUNK'ART 2 reconstructs the history of the Albanian Ministry of Internal Affairs from 1912 to 1991 and reveals the secrets of “Sigurimi”, the political police that was the harsh persecution weapon used by the regime of Enver Hoxha. BUNK'ART 2 is the first major video museum exhibition dedicated to the victims of communist terror.
