Once the tour started it was very interesting with a professional tour-guide. Very good impression of the historic parts of old Toronto. The problem was the starting time of the tour; we were not informed correctly about the time: on the confirmation voucher was stated start 14.00hrs. but, meeting point and time: 10.00hrs.! So we had to wait about 4 hrs if not we could have lost our money and tour!
Taking a food tour in the Old Toronto part of town turned into a very interesting and delicious experience, Our tour guide, John, was a pro, and gave us interesting pieces of info accompanied by food. It was great to hear about why Toronto is called
Wonderful tour and experience. Our guide was fantastic. Interesting neighborhood history and then the food at St. Lawrence Market was over the top!! Great variety and LOTS of food!
Of all the things we did this was by far the most interesting and worth the money. Our guide was knowledgeable and knew his food and Toronto history. Though the order of eating would have been different if I were in charge, by no means was it skimpy. You cannot leave this tour hungry unless you choose to. The stands you are eating from have been in families for generations and they bantered with the guide and answered questions. Every dollar I spent on this was worthwhile, along giving up my strict paleo diet for a day! I would recommend this tour to anyone, foodie or not. Literally something to eat for any and everyone.
Great tour! A heads up to set your expectations of the timeline... you have coffee and a pastry first thing, then walk around Old Toronto for 1.5hrs no food, THEN come back to the market and try all of the tasties! The food was so good, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend this tour!
Chef Scott was very knowledgeable about the food, history and culture of Toronto. He kept us on our feet literally, it was a walking tour with very interesting stories about the city as well as convincing us to try new foods. My boyfriend and I were STUFFED by the end. Such a great variety of foods and desserts and I wish we could have spent all day in that market. I would definitely do it again!
