Itinerary
Your tour will begin at 9:40 when we will meet at the Margaret River mouth, Prevelly Beach. You’ll be greeted with the stunning views of Surfers Point where the river meeting the ocean.
After our introductions and a safety briefing, we'll launch at 10.15am, paddling upstream past cliffs, pioneer and aboriginal sites in our stable canoes. Access to the river is very restricted so there are no power boats and the ecosystem is almost untouched, boasting an abundance of wildlife, unique coastal forests and tranquil waters. Lunch will be served around 1pm served and includes an exotic selection of wild food tastes from all over Western Australia, including kangaroo, emu and crocodile along with wild nut pesto, quandongs, bush tomatoes and much more. Vegetarians are well catered for.
After lunch, we’ll paddle a little further upstream past forested kangaroo habitats and learn the history of our first native inhabitants and the trials of the famous Bussell family who were among the first European Settlers in the region. There will be lots of opportunities for unique photos, fun in the sun before we meander back downstream or race for a bottle of Margaret River wine to Surfer's Beach.

I really liked this tour. It is different from the regular wine tours and you get to hear a bit of history and try some new things on this tour. Everything didn't go right for u s mainly in the rowing department but we overcame and made it up the river. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife and hearing about the aboriginals. My family enjoyed walking up the Cliffside to get the whole view of the river and landscape. Then we enjoyed a very interesting lunch did bring snacks for our kids just in case but I enjoyed trying the many different items that I wouldn't have tried if they were not described and offered to me like this trip did. I got to try out crocodile, kangaroo and emu meat. While I didn't like kangaroo or emu but I really did enjoy the crocodile meat, plus the homemade pestos and jams. The cave tour was interesting its short but I am glad it was since I am not a cave person but I did the crawl through and army crawl through some parts of the cave so it was an adventure. Our Guide was great and very informative.
