his beach as it was situated on the edge of the hotel zone and thus had few tourists and mostly just locals. Less touts as a result and more peace to enjoy the sun on the beach and swim.

Stop At: Catholic church María Estrella del Mar, Mz 55, Lte 31, Carr. a Punta Sam Km 2, 74, 77520 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico
will find this small and picturesque chapel facing the sea. One of its peculiarities is that it has no walls and the altar has its back to the sea, so the views are beautiful. There are few masses, but for me the ideal is to take it into account for the realization of a wedding. It's really beautiful.

El Meco is located to the north of Cancun en route to Punta Sam and Puerto Juarez. It has the highest archaeological structure in the northern peninsula (12m/40ft) which supports archaeological findings that this location was used for maritime navigation. From the top of the Castillo one can see the Caribbean Sea, all of Cancun’s lagoons, and Isla Mujeres. It is thought to be the lighthouse of the region.

This is where the locals come to shop for fruits/vegetables, meats & cheese, household items, stationary items etc. There is one lane dedicated to food stalls which is quite popular as we couldn’t find a free table at any of them! You need a pretty good handle on Mexican food to be able to eat here

Puerto Morelos is divided by a highway and a mangrove swamp into three sections. The section west of the highway is known as "Colonia Joaquin Zetina Gazca". The section east of the highway is called "Colonia Pescadores". The section on the coast east of the mangrove swamp is "Puerto" or "Antiguo (old) Puerto Morelos". This original coastal fishing village is now a quiet, mixed-use neighborhood of private homes, hotels, condominiums, restaurants, and tourist shops.
