You’ll be part of a small group (12 people maximum), together with your driver and tour guide.
In less than an hour you’ll reach the archaeological site of Coba, powerful Mayan civilisation, still hidden in the jungle for a big part.
You’ll be visiting the Mayan city of Coba and thanks to the explanations of your certified guide you’ll discover its secrets. You’ll be riding your bicycle through the paths in the jungle until you’ll reach Nohoch Mul, which with its 47 meters of heights is the only pyramid that people can still climb up to the top in Quintana Roo.
Leaving the Coba site, you’ll be travelling on the ancient route for the trade of the salt to reach the Mayan community Esmeralda. This is the home of Mayan families that will be opening their doors to you. You’ll learn about their customs, flora and fauna, as well as their thousand-year traditions, still alive. Mayan people are wise experts of nature.
After this meeting with the Mayan culture, you’ll be visiting the cenote Ak Tun Zotz, a fascinating cave leading to an underground river where you’ll refresh yourself in the water of the Creation. If you’re brave enough, you’ll be diving from the high rocks of its entrance to access the Mayan inframundo.
You’ll enjoy a tasty Mayan lunch that the kind ladies of the Esmeralda community will cook just for you.
