Gorkhi - Terelj National Park, meaning "stream - rhododendron", is located 55 kilometres (34,18 miles) East Ulan Bator, 1600 metres (0,99 mile) above the sea level, in the strictly protected area of Khentii. A tarred road connects the national park to the capital ; you need to allow 1.30 to 2.00 hours to go there.

The equestrian statue of Genghis Khan was built in 2008 on the occasion of the eight-hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Mongolian Empire, in honour of its founder, Genghis Khan.
This huge stainless steel statue weighs 250 tons and is 40 metres (131 feet) high ; it's the highest statue representing a man on a horseback in the world. It's located 54 kilometres (33,55 miles) from Ulan Bator, on the banks of the Tuul River, in the place called Tsonjin Boldog. You can easily visit it when you visit Gorkhi Terelj National Park.

I am not good at English, but I did not have any trouble as Mr. Bat, a guide, told me in easy-to-understand English．I wish I had enough time to ride a horse and enter the ger. But overall I enjoyed having a good experience.It is recommended
Mr Bat was a very helpful and informative guide. He was punctual and provided a lot of local knowledge and historical information. There was plenty of time to do all of the activities and he was happy to accommodate individual requests where possible. I would definitely recommend this tour and hope I can do another tour with Mr Bat again soon.
We took this tour mainly to get out into the countryside for a few hours. The history behind the Chinggis Khaan memorial was very interesting as was the museum at the bottom of the statue. The guide was very knowledgable on all things Mongolia. We really enjoyed the drive to Terrelj National park and walking to the Buddhist retreat temple. The main complaint about the tour was the timing. We had plans for the evening and the tour just seemed to get longer and longer. The length of time advertised for a tour should be at least close to the actual it takes.
