Continuing your trip’s market visit theme, proceed to two more local bazaars, one located in the Chowk sector and then to Vishwanath Gali. During your exploration you’ll marvel at one of the largest silk markets in the city, where products like chiffon, crepe, and the famous Banarasi Saris are sold.

Leaving the market behind, head to Dashashwamedh Ghat, one of Varanasi’s most popular bathing “ghats” (steps leading to a body of water) to admire the conglomeration of bathing pilgrims, photographers, and tourists gathered near the holy Ganges River. As night falls, you’ll get to observe the sacred “Ganga Aarti” ceremony, a ritual where priests offer melodic mantras, and lit lamps, incense, and candles are placed in the river as offerings to this spiritual body of water. Finish the evening at a local rooftop restaurant, where you’ll enjoy an included meal with a view of the ghats and Ganges below. Then receive a drop-off back at your Varanasi hotel.
