About this activity
Your tour will show you the most beautiful parts of the Venetian Lagoon in the comfort of a reliable and fast boat, which will lead you first to Murano, the glassmakers’ island; then Burano, famous for its crochet works; Torcello; and finally Saint Mark’s Square, the heart of Venice. During your tour your guide will explain the history and the culture of Venice and its islands and answer your questions and help you.
Your tour stops first in Murano, where you can see the glass-blowing demonstration. A long and still-thriving tradition, this art has involved whole generations of Murano residents. Starting from the Middle Ages, glassmakers have been developing a personal style so that you can see the difference between one glassmaker and another and recognize the brand.
Your tour continues to Burano. The heart of this island is Baldassarre Galuppi’s Square, which is the only square of the island. Burano’s bell tower is well-known because it is leaning. This characteristic occurred due to a structural failure of the stilts under the tower. Here you will see sailors’ colorful houses. Burano is famous for its crochet works, but also for its small, brightly painted houses which are popular with artists.
The next stop is Torcello, one of the most ancient and rich settlements of the lagoon where you can enjoy the Square, Santa Fosca’s Church, “Ponte del Diaolo” and many more interesting places.
You will have approximately 45 minutes on each island.
Once you have experienced Torcello’s specialties, your tour ends in Saint Mark’s Square, the heart of Venice. Here you can stroll around immersed in art, history, and astonishing views including the square, the bell tower, colonnades and much more.

A lot was packed into this half day tour with three islands, a glass factory and lace making shop included so the time for exploring the islands was necessarily short. Both the glass factory and lace shop were worth the visit with informed talks from representatives of both with opportunities to purchase from both. The time available to wander round the islands was enough to give a flavour of them which encouraged us to take a vaporreto day ticket to explore them further. The tour guide was well informed and gave commentary during the trip. Overall well organised and most enjoyable.
Highly recommend as it does exactly what is described. But the real jewel of this tour is Torcello. Next time, I'll spend the entire afternoon there.
it was a great family experiance
