We did this tour on 03July2018. Our guide, Stefania picked us up in Venice and we traveled up to the San Daniele area. The trip included a tour of San Daniele which has several gorgeous old churches. We were then taken to La Casa del Prosciutto, where Marco provided a great tour of the prosciutto factory and an excellent history of the why the area is dominated by the ham business. This tour was followed by a great lunch at Al Portonat in downtown San Daniele. The restaurant provided an multi course meal that included traditional items associated with the Friuli region. The service and the food at Al Portonat was remarkable. We then traveled to the Emilio Bulfon Winery. Alberta Bulfon gave us a complete tour of the facility with a detailed description of their company history and wine making process. This tour was followed by a wine tasting which included all the Bulfon varieties, they were all fantastic. After the tasting, Stafania safely returned us to Venice Total tour time about 10 hrs. This tour was an excellent experience and Stefania did an excellent job at providing us with a true taste of the Friuli region. Kyle and Christi Captain West Virginia, USA
