While the weather was great for a boat ride our available time in Murano and Burano was too short. In Murano we watched a skilled artisan create glassware and then toured a showroom which left little time to roam the village. The same can be said for Burano where we had scheduled a lunch, which was good, Again, we were rushed to meet the boat for the return trip to Venice without enjoying the charm of this fishing village.

We enjoyed the boat trip to Marano for a short glass blowing demonstration and then an opportunity to purchase Murano glass items from the store at the same location. Then off again by boat to Burano where we had an excellent three course fish lunch. We wish there had been more time to enjoy it. Afterwards, we were able to go into one of the shops to make a lace purchase before we had to head back to the boat. Burano is so charming and colorful that we wish the stop there could have been longer.

The boat ride was delightful, the glass blowing demonstration was great. The shopping afterwards was excellent. Our lunch was delicious too. Both quaint islands to visit for an enjoyable day. Totally enjoyed it.

We found the yellow booth with no problem but the man was not very helpful. He took our information and a lot of other people were signing up for the boat tour. The guide came and she spoke several languages and by that time it was a big group. She sat on the top level of the boat and talked fast over a loud speaker and we finally gave up trying to understand what she was saying. The trip to Murano was fine, glassblower was interesting and we enjoyed the showroom but there were lots of people purchasing items so we had to hurry. When we got to Burano we were really rushed. The guide did not have the info about our lunch and had to call since she had not been told. The lunch was wonderful and a lot of food but we were the only ones who had booked this with lunch so again rushed. Loved this island and would like to have spent more time there. Had to run to catch the boat before it left. If we ever go back I would spend the day on our own and get lunch on our own.
