Hiking Myra Waterfalls

Itinerary

After a short ride from Vienna, we arrive at Myra Waterfalls, where we have to pay a small entrance fee* and start our hike. After climbing up the falls by crossing wooden bridges, we continue to hike up a little hill, being rewarded with a spectacular view on the surrounding mountains.

We follow the trail through a pine forest to reach a plateau after a while, with views to Schneeberg, which is the highest mountain of Lower Austria. If we are lucky, we might even spot some cows - true countryside feeling, just one hour from Vienna! After a descend on a shady forest road, we reach the entrance to the ravine Steinwandklamm. It is a very romantic and impressive gorge with moss-covered rocks left and right.

On top, we will pass through a tiny cave and will again be rewarded with great views. From here, we continue our way back to the entrance, passing through a magical forest and walking down the Myra Waterfalls again back to the starting point.
*Please note: the entry fee of EUR 8,-- (including the falls and the gorge) is extra and has to be paid directly at the entrance.
