We set out for the outskirts of the city to the Pertoldsdorfer Heide in the Vienna Woods, a steppe-like cultural landscape that is particularly protected. It has arisen through many years of human activity and is considered a natural jewel of international importance. Wander through the meadows on your way to a lookout tower, the Josefswarte, and explore the surrounding pine forests. If the weather is fine, you will see a large part of Vienna from the top of that tower, as well the easternmost part of the alps.
