Vienna wine tour with a local sommelier
Vienna is surrounded by renowned wine regions, from sunny Burgenland in the south-east to the Wachau valley in the west. Lower Austria is the cradle of Austrian wine-growing and this route aims to take you through the beautiful vineyards of this region.
You will taste at least eight different local wines during the tastings. You'll meet your guide at 9:00 a.m. at the main entrance of Vienna's main train station, the Hauptbanhof. After a 30-minute train ride, you'll arrive at the delightful spa town of Baden, once Beethoven's favourite retreat. You will pass through the classic village centre of Biedermeier and its beautiful parks.
Stroll through the vineyards with regular breaks, admire unique views and taste the wine produced by the local wineries. Stop by the delightful wine village of Gumpoldskirchen, where you can refresh yourself in one of the typical taverns (lunch not included). After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to the second cellar and a second tasting.
