Stop At: Windhoek, Namibia
This City tour takes about 2.5 -3 hour in the Capital City of Namibia that gives the clients an overview of the historical sites in the heart of the City Windhoek as well as an overview of the Katutura township where the majority of the city’s residents live.
Point 1: Christuskirche, Windhoek, Khomas Region
This is a historic landmark and Lutheran church based in Windhoek CBD which clients will enjoy.
Point 2: Alte Feste, Windhoek, Khomas Region
The Alte Feste is a fortress and museum in downtown Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. The building was designed by captain Curt von François to serve as headquarters of the imperial German Schutztruppe during German colonization of South West Africa.
Point 3: National Museum of Namibia, Windhoek, Khomas Region
The Independence Memorial Museum is a historical museum in Windhoek, Namibia. It focuses on the anti-colonial resistance and the national liberation struggle of Namibia.
Point 4: Parliament Gardens, Windhoek, Khomas Region
Parliament Gardens is a small park in downtown Windhoek, Namibia. It is located between the Tintenpalast and the Christuskirche
Point 5: Namibia Craft Centre, Windhoek, Khomas Region
This place is an outlet for heaps of wonderful Namibian inspiration – leatherwork, basketry, pottery, jewellery, needlework, hand-painted textiles and other material arts – and the artist and origin of each piece. and up satires they have a coffee shop .
Point 6: Katutura Township, Windhoek, Khomas Region
Katutura Township. Katatura is Windhoek’s informal settlement and estimated to be home to more than two thirds of Windhoek’s 325,000 people.
Clients will also visit the “Single Quarters” where we can chat with the vendors at this local market as well as taste Namibian beef and other local goodies. We then take a drive through the informal area of the township to see how people live in the shanty town before returning to the City.
Point 7: Penduka Village
You will get to see the local woman produce hand made product that are available on sale this includes batik, glass recycling- jewelry making and pottery,exchange visits, making use of natural resources, show benefits of talented skills.
