About this activity
Your local tour guide and driver will greet & meet you up at hotel @07:30 AM in the morning. Start your Bago Day Return tour and on the way to bago, you will have to visit Htaukkyant local market where you will see daily ways of life, selling fresh vegetable, meat & fish and other utensils etc. Then proceed to Bago and before entering Bago, visit Kyaikpun Buddha Image (four huge seated Buddha Images in the open air with back to back position). Continue to Kya Khat Wai Monastery to observe one of the three largest Monasteries in the country and the Buddhist monastic life and to observe the lunch process of thousands of monks who take their last meal of the day at 10:30 am in total silence. Then we proceed to visit Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda which was built by Mon Kings and it was 114 meter height. It was suffered strong by earthquakes several times in the history. Transfer to visit Kan Baw Za Thardi Golden palace of King BaYint Naung, whom was the most powerful king during 15 century. Inside the palace building, you can see over 600 years old teak wood pillars and royal regalia and famous Martaban jars used by ancient sea-farers. Late afternoon, proceed to the ancient reclining Buddha that Shwe Thar Hlyaung and Sein Thar Hlaung Reclining Buddha images. Continue to Mon village where you will see families from Mon tribes are still living and study weaving, rubber planting and farming. You can see very primitive style rice mill and simple village life style. Photo stop at Mya Thar Hlaung Reclinning Buddha image and back to Yangon. On the way before entering Yangon, if time permits, you will have to see Htauk Kyant War Memorial Cemetery which contains the graves of 6,374 soldiers who died in the Second World War, the graves of 52 soldiers who died in Burma during the First World War, and memorial pillars (The Rangoon Memorial) with the names of over 27,000 Commonwealth soldiers who died in Burma during the Second World War.
