The first time I laid eyes on Prambanan Temple was at night. It was dazzling. The restaurant had a lovely view of the lit temple as a backdrop for both the meal and the stage for the performance of the Ramayana Ballet. The meal was delicious and the performance was mesmerizing. The driver spoke excellent English and shared with me the story of Ramayana so that the show would have more meaning for me. The whole evening was memorable.
