About this activity
Meet your guide and group at the gallery and depart for a hands-on field experience. Along the way, you’ll learn the history of Adams, the methods by which he composed photos, and some basic lessons in photographic technique.
Meander along mostly paved paths for approximately 2-3 miles (3-5 km), stopping at four significant points where Adams chose to shoot photos. Ask questions along the way, discuss Adams and photography in general, and get a better sense of the renowned photographer’s composition choices.
This tour is best suited for beginner to intermediate photographers and hobbyists. Smart phone photography is welcome.

Great experience. The instructor was able to show the vantage points to familiar photos and the history of them. Great opportunity to find out the good photo spots that not everyone knows about
This is an amazing 4 hour class, taught by a specialized-photography Ranger multi-talented who works inside the Ansel Adams Museum. With my 6th grade son, we took this class in preparation for a class speech, as well as being a photography buff. This class was the first time for him to learn about photography styles, old and new film and digital, black and white vs. color, as well as landscape photography styles and information Presented in an adult manner. Thankfully the Ranger did not baby any information down, but elevated my son's education and capabilities An amazing day in Yosemite, fascinating photography and information galore. Rides were taken from location to location, so it really was a lot of photography, information and locations, not mostly hiking which was my worry.
