About this activity
Your day begins with pickup in either Fresno, Oakhurst, or Fish Camp aboard a comfortable touring vehicle. From here, enjoy a scenic journey to Yosemite, entering through the park’s Southgate entrance.
Stop at Chinquapin and Glacier Point, an overlook offering remarkable views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and Yosemite’s high country. After a short walk, you can gaze over the valley, including Curry Village and the renowned Majestic Yosemite Hotel (formerly the Ahwahnee), and take in picture-perfect views of the surrounding mountaintops.
Between spring and fall, you also have the option of hiking Glacier Point’s 4-Mile Trail, which ends on Southside Drive. From here, simply hop on a shuttle or continue across the Swinging Bridge to Yosemite Valley Lodge, where you’ll meet back up with your guide.
For those who’d prefer to stay on the bus, you'll make your way down to the Yosemite Valley, starting from the Tunnel View to take in spectacular views of Bridalveil Fall, El Capitan, The Chapel, Sentinel Bridge, Half Dome and Yosemite Falls.
The group will then break for lunch, along with an easy walk to the base of Yosemite Falls. You’ll also have time to peruse the souvenir gift shops.
After dining, you'll pay a visit to the meadows in front of El Capitan to see if anyone is rock climbing, an extremely popular park activity.
Next, continue on with a drive alongside the Merced River and learn a bit about President Theodore Roosevelt’s 3-night camping trip with naturalist John Muir, who successfully lobbied for the creation of Yosemite National Park.
Your return trip includes a stop at The Pioneer Village History Center for some exploring and also a visit to the historical landmark Wawona Hotel, a perfect place for viewing the park’s young sequoias.
The tour concludes with a ride back to either Fresno or Oakhurst.

James was wonderful and has much knowledge and an excellent driver and a real gentelmen. tell Ram James is very good.
Our driver James was very knowledgeable and friendly. He also was very reassuring that he was a good driver and had driven the twists and turns of Yosemite Park many times. I loved all the unique tidbits of information he gave throughout the tour. Best of all he knew all the best spots for great photos. We had a delicious picnic lunch and a great time visiting with the other people on our tour. This tour is a great way to get to see Glacier Point without the stress of driving up there yourself. I would definitely recommend this tour. Sit back, relax and let a professional drive!
Information on reaching the park from Fresno, in case you are not driving yourself, is scarce and not very accurate.
Highly recommended tour. Will allow you to make the best out of Yosemite in 1 day. The entire journey went smoothly, the pickup was well planned, the stops went perfectly and the whole tour was well worth it.
Very pleasant journey hosted by James, very save driver :) And keeping the group engaged. I'm looking back on the trip with a smile on my face as well the stunning views you have during the journey incl. the Sokoya trees at the end, Don't miss them! Thanks James, your friend Robbert from Holland.
The tour guide Cathy was excellent and provided us with the experience of visiting many bonus sites . The lunch was large and delicious.
This tour was fantastic! I was the only person booked on the day I went, but Richard took great care of me. He chauffeured me around all the hairpin turns in a comfortable suburban while I relaxed and enjoyed the views. He provided lots of information about the history of the park, as well as the plants and animals in the park. We saw Glacier Point, Half Dome, Bridal Veil Falls, etc. We also had a neat picnic lunch at Yosemite Falls which included a huge sandwich, chips, cookie, banana, and water. At El Capitan, he brought out his binoculars to point out the rock climbers to me. He made regular stops at the good restrooms which was appreciated. We also stopped at Fern Springs where he provided me with a plastic water bottle that I filled with the coldest fresh water to drink. The leaves are starting to turn and I got some great pictures. Overall, it was a fantastic day.
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip on Saturday. The outstanding guide, Katie, anticipated the needs of each one in my group of 3. Katie was very knowledgeable and personable and made every stop a chance to learn a new bit of information. We were given a chance to exit the comfortable SUV at every stop for picture taking or just to stretch. Because of Katie's experience I learned about plants and animals that call the park home, plus the fact that rock climbing began at Yosemite. Who knew? I especially enjoyed viewing active climbers through binoculars provided by Katie. Even with the detours - necessitated by roadworks - Katie kept the group on schedule while ensuring we saw all planned stops of the tour. The only negative comment is that the included hearty bag lunch sandwich bread could've been fresher. If you have only one day for seeing Yosemite take this great tour.
Small group just 5 of us with our own personal driver Mary in an SUV which personalized the day the lunch was tasty .definately the way to see the park I wouldn't do it any other way .didnt have to worry about parking or driving or finding my way around Mary did it all
Our tour guide Pat was fantastic nothing was to much trouble and his experience showed through knowing where the best spots were.
